daily paper unveil their first women's collection
Daily Paper is famous for its sharp, streetwise contemporary menswear. So color us pleasantly surprised to find that our favorite Amsterdam-based fashion label just debuted its first full women's collection.
Established in 2010 as a lifestyle and fashion blog, Daily Paper is now celebrated for innovative designs; combining modern silhouettes with influences from the founders' African heritage. Apart from their seasonal collections, the brand has launched collaborative capsule collections with Puma, Filling Pieces, Colette and Sandalboyz.
Daily Paper is dedicated to people with distinct personal styles, and an appreciating for clean tailoring and eclectic choices of materials. In keeping with the brand's DNA, those same traits appear throughout this new women's collection. With dresses, jackets, pants, joggers, sweaters, body suits, crop tops and skirts, the collection is clean-cut but casual with sporty, city-ready vibe. The pieces come with a summer-ready color palette - inspired by the Surma tribe of Ethiopia - with hues ranging from pastel gray to bright orange.

For our new collection we were inspired by the colourful body decoration used by the Surma tribe. This expressive tribe inhabits the Omo Valley area in southern Ethiopia. Their resourceful usage of the territories flora and fauna has sparked the interest of many photographers from around the world. Dressing themselves in twigs, flowers, leaves and painting each other’s bodies with clay, they influenced us to design our most colourful collection to date.
