Uma Ramiah is Editor-at-Large for Globetrotter Magazine. She joined the magazine two years ago and now edits and contributes digitally. She's worked in human rights, journalism, branding, public relations, photography, television, social media and community organizing in West, Central and South Africa, the US and Southeast Asia. After a few years with international organizations including Human Rights Watch and the United Nations, she moved on to writing about cities, arts and culture. She's big on underdog towns and neighborhood creativity, the Asia-Africa conversation and art in places it's "not supposed to be."
