Here comes Bestival Bali, the upcoming two-day island bash with a most epic and ever-expanding musical lineup of hip-hop, soul, reggae, indie and electronic vibes.
And the Globetrotter family is teaming up. We're Bali-bound for the festival, curating good sounds on both days for Globetrotter Social Club x Bestival, on the Island Stage: with Darker Than Wax (Singapore), Disko Africa (Bali) and Diskoria (Jakarta).
Bestival is a UK favorite, but this marks the first time the award-winning boutique music endeavor sets foot in Asia. With a stated mission to "spread peace and love through via creative vision and eclectic music," it seems Indonesia's paradise island makes a smart match for the inaugural Bestival on the continent. Beyond the music, expect food markets, great cocktails, a beach club, and signature wild and wonderful Bestival art installations and decor.
Bestival takes root at the seriously stunning Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park in Bali, just 20 minutes drive from the airport. Sitting on over 240 acres of land, GWK Cultural Park is centered around the world's largest statue of Lord Vishnu.
As curator Rob da Bank says, “Well, I can’t think of a better place in the world to do a new festival than Bali - a beautiful country, incredible culture, great music and don’t even get me started on the surf, history, nature and people. We are honored to be bringing Bestival to Bali and promise to deliver a sublime festival experience reflecting being on the Island Of Gods from funk pioneer George Clinton and hip hop royalty De La Soul to indie heroes alt-J and Purity Ring, it’s gonna be the best!”
