filling pieces explores boyhood in dakar

April 11, 2020

In times like these, there's nothing more critical than our connection with each other, or the lack thereof. Coming with impeccable timing is Filling Pieces' recently released Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear collection, which is centered around the unbreakable bond of a family.

Designer Dieylane Cisse's inspiration for the collection is a set of fictional family members, united by their own definitive style. In keeping up with the theme, Dieylane journeyed back to Dakar, Senegal, his birthplace. The people of Dakar believes that everyone who touches the land is a family member, which is how the city is also known as "The Teranga" or "The Welcome Land".

Taken by photographer Miftha Bahardeen, the campaign explores the story of "Boyhood" and features models chillin’, playing, playing fighting and doing other family-like stuff in Filling Pieces' latest collection.
