Concerts and festivals might have been cancelled or postponed, but thankfully, that hasn't stopped musicians to produce new songs.
One example is "Chopped" by emerging artist LUVK (read: luck). The track is a follow-up to the first single "Dead Wrong", which came out in late February. In "Dead Wrong", LUVK sings of the breaking point of a toxic relationship, and the theme continues in "Chopped", a song about a spiraling romance.
LUVK's strength is in her rawness and how she lays bare her emotions. While "Dead Wrong" is filled with rage, "Chopped" is teeming with desperation.
Unlike the rock & roll-heavy "Dead Wrong", "Chopped" is a hip-hop and R&B-fused tune. Indeed, LUVK is a defier of genres. By championing "love, individualism, and provoking thought" through her music, she "embraces and embodies the beauty of the human race." And honestly, isn't this what the world needs right now?
There's more where that came from in LUVK's upcoming debut album It Wasn't Luck. The record sees the rising star working with her fellow the Bop Crew members, namely her go-to producer, Venessa Michaels, and LUVK's own sister, Raven.
Although It Wasn't Luck was scheduled to drop in April, the release date has been pushed back due to obvious reasons. While waiting, enjoy “Chopped” above or click here to listen on other music platforms!
