art comes first in transit | london to bali
We caught up with the traveling tailors in the land of the Gods, Bali.
A while back, when international travel was non-life-threatening, we linked up with London based Sam and Shaka on the island of the Gods; Bali.⠀
⠀
Sam Lambert and Shaka Maidoh together are Art Comes First, a collective leading a movement of tailors and classic style-driven garments for gents and women through dynamic collaborations, artistic expression & cultural craftsmanship. Think Saville Row and English sartorialism mixed with British punk sprinkled with a D.I.Y philosophy. ⠀
The duo ensure their creative expressions extend beyond their base in London, so even on holiday, the traveling tailors are always on the lookout for inspiration. And that’s what happened on their trip to Bali: finding inspiration in abundance from the people, its history, vegan food (they’re both vegans) the culture, and everything in between. ⠀
⠀
"It's been an amazing trail of connection," Shaka said. "Bali has drawn all of us together. Every single person we met meant something to us. Your vibe attracts your tribe, and we definitely found our tribe in Bali." ⠀
