Pharell Williams is back with the Fall/Winter 2018 collection of Hu, his collaborative line with adidas Originals.
Known for incorporating different cultures around the world in its designs, Hu is basing this season's collection on East Africa, where running is deeply ingrained in the culture.
"Africa is a beautiful continent and the origin of civilization. Running is a form of meditation," Pharrell says. "Why not go back to the motherland and take inspiration from such a vivid and rich culture? Why not create a tribute to this incredible sport?"
Named "SOLARHU," the collection is filled with fearless colors (aqua, red, yellow, green and purple), bold patterns and East African stylistic flair. Inspired by the people's raw spirit and style, the shoes have striking wording graphics. Slogans like "Mother" or "Empower" and Swahili words such as "Miele" (Forever) or "Mbele" (Forward) are translated into alphanumeric text to complete the homage.
The SOLARHU collection is now available worldwide.
