Some afflicted include rappers Vinnie Brown of Naughty by Nature and Fred the Godson, who unfortunately passed away on Thursday.
In response to the coronavirus crisis, the New York-based Universal Hip Hop Museum (UHHM) hosted “Hip Hop Loves NY” livestream event on April 23 to honor and raise money for the frontline workers.
Broadcasted in collaboration with Mass Appeal, the livestream saw appearances by numerous legendary celebrities and artists, from LL Cool J, Nas, Ice-T, Doug E. Fresh, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, Chuck D of Public Enemy, Stretch & Bobbito and many more. The event featured online conversations between the stars who discussed openly about the effects of the virus on the communities, followed by live in-home music performances.
